Going to the Dogs

Layout Design | Illustration | Moving Image | Research

This project investigates modern greyhound racing in Sheffield through illustration and design, resulting in a zine combining research, motion and storytelling. It aims to inform, challenge perceptions and provoke discussion across its audience through my own personal experience.

Two animations explore different aspects of the industry. The first visualises a greyhoun’ds career lifespan through betting slips, highlighting the short career of a greyhound’s career and the transactional nature of the races. The second turns the greyhound jacket colours into a roulette wheel, presenting the dogs’ career as a gamble alongside the financial stakes of punters.
